Post-Production Brand Book
Cadence Post
THE ASK: Create a brand guideline for the post-production company Cadence Post that can be used to strengthen brand identity and distinguish itself among competitors.
THE CHALLENGE: This was an interesting and really fun project because this was an existing brand that did not have a brand book yet. I started by researching all that should be included in a professional brand guideline and important elements for a post-production company to prioritize. I previously had not had much experience with photo and video branding so this helped me to gain a better understanding on what distinguishes post-produced content and more on the process behind it.
Since this was an existing brand, my next step was to dive into all of their branded content that had already been executed as well as their archived material to understand how the brand presents themselves. I collected material to use in the brand book and noted elements to recreate or emphasize. As I developed the guide, I consistently used this material as my references and referral to ensure that I aligned with the image they had already created while clarifying their tone and mission. I also didn’t want to overcomplicate the guide, since post-production is a lot more freeform and does not usually adhere to strict brand guidelines. I wanted to leave the company with a document that they can change as the company evolves after my time as an intern.
